World Sports University has signed a cooperative education agreement with Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University, marking a new step in advancing integrated development across sports education, industry, and research.

WSU Signs Cooperative Education Agreement with Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University

The agreement was formally signed yesterday at WSU’s headquarters by Che Kuong Hon, President of World Sports University, and Sun Chengwu, President of Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University. The partnership aims to explore innovative models of industry–academia–research integration, combining sports and education to cultivate sports-related talent and promote the sustainable development of the sports industry.

The signing ceremony took place at 10:00 a.m. and was witnessed by a distinguished group of guests, including Zhou Gao, Vice President of WSU; Wang Fengyong, Dean of the Martial Arts College of Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University; Macao Daily News Office Director Wu Ting; Hong Kong Judo Association Chairman Wong Po Kei; Macao Badminton Association Chairman Maria do Carmo Ribeiro Madeira de Carvalho; and Macao Bodybuilding Association Chairman Yeung Sai Yip, among others.

Following the signing, President Che Kuong Hon expressed his hope that, after the completion and inauguration of Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University’s new campus, the two institutions would further strengthen cooperation to promote the development of intellectual and other sports disciplines. He noted that deeper integration between mainland China and the Hong Kong–Macau region—particularly in rules, talent development, and market mechanisms—is essential. Through such integration, complementary strengths and resources can be effectively combined to foster coordinated regional development. He added that the cooperative education initiative between WSU and Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University provides an important platform to explore new models of industry–academia–research integration.

President Sun Chengwu remarked that his university shares a special connection with Macau, noting that Shandong Foreign Affairs Vocational University was founded in 1999, the same year as Macau’s return to China. With campuses in Weihai and Jinan, the university looks forward to expanding connectivity and collaboration with WSU through the cooperative education framework, with a focus on nurturing sports-related talent and supporting the growth of related industries.

After the signing ceremony, a symposium on “Sports Empowering Industrial Upgrading” was held. Experts, scholars, and invited guests engaged in in-depth discussions, sharing insights and practical experiences on how sports can drive industrial innovation and high-quality development.

The agreement reflects WSU’s ongoing commitment to international and regional collaboration and its mission to advance sports education through innovative, industry-connected models.
